How It Works

When an expected number of assessment forms has been received, the responses are compiled, the assessment scores calculated and displayed in an Excel workbook, then analyzed by PHCS staff. The analysis reveals what functions and behaviors are going well, what are not going so well, and those items that bear watching.

Recommendations are then presented on how to interpret the data and identify areas requiring additional attention.

Statistics – What the numbers tell you

Unlike social media which streams negative, speculative, and unfounded conclusions, our Assessment provides an accurate scientifically valid statistical understanding of opinions from people who matter to you.

 

Perception is Reality. The assessment measures the perceptions of people “who matter to you,” neighbors, co-workers, and community members. It will reveal the perception of:

  • What seems to be going well
  • What seems to be NOT going well
  • What dimensions should you watch

That is important for you because their perception is their image of the municipality. Perception is Reality.

How It Benefits You

The Civic Leadership assessment has proven to be statistically valid and reliable. That is important because validity and reliability make the results from the assessment scientifically accurate and therefore useful.

It is not a bunch of unfounded complaints from one or two people posting on social media or the chronically aggrieved who fume as they speak during public comments at your council meetings.

You chose the people whose opinion you value, for example, your neighbors, co-workers, and community members.

When you sponsor the assessment, you are the owner of the resulting data. The information and assessment belong to you. You purchased it and it is considered proprietary and will not be shared by PHCS.

You can resolve issues before they develop into full-blown perilous problems. Our assessment results will guide you in the right direction.

Finally, because we value our elected leaders and respect those who want to improve their performance, we strongly recommend we mail you a flash drive with your results. This keeps your paid for survey as private as possible and off the Internet.

Decide on a simple code each respondent can use to identify the study. like; RCG1942 or something similar. This is the way we track your entries.

Let us know who our customer is (the person paying for the study) and we take it from there, staying in touch while the surveys are coming in.
