Frequently Asked Questions

Provide people with more humanistic and helpful ways to judge and assist their local governments. We are demonstrating how the general public can provide image and performance feedback to the elected leaders of city councils, school boards, and homeowner associations. And with “data” and not horror stories or examples of misbehavior or incompetence. And to reduce the negative conversation on social media, interesting as that might be. There is no need to wait for recall elections or lawsuits.

Well, the customer becomes a “civic leader,” helping neighbors and friends provide important information to public agencies. She or he pays the fee, receives a code for the internet based survey and asks people she values to agree or disagree with the 30 statements on our copyrighted and statistically valid survey. We calculate the results and assist the customer in providing feedback to the HOA, City Council or School Board. We want to assist in initiating important conversations with elected officials.

The statements fall into six categories of relational and functional outcomes of these elected bodies. They are: Leadership. Conflict. Communication. Knowledge. Ethics/Public Trust. Financial Management. The statements come from university doctoral level public management curriculum; from consultants working with local government; from research in peer reviewed academic articles.

Yes. If the customer is in any way unhappy with the “process”, we refund the full amount. The data, of course, is generated by the customer, so we don’t evaluate that. Just report the results.

Yes, by phone, text, email, zoom meeting or in person, we communicate with the customer and point out what the data is showing and how to present that to the HOA, City Council, or School Board. We offer a balanced summary; what is going well, what not so well, and what bears watching.

Misunderstanding with how local government works and what voice the public has. Coming up to the microphone at meetings, or writing Letters to the Editor, or roasting people on social media, do not produce lasting results. Dialog does. Elected officials answer to the public. Sometimes they are in the dark and need information and ideas from those they represent. This is a way to do that.

A. By engaging in discussions among themselves in social gatherings and internet forums. The respondents are picked by the purchaser. And the data generated is their sole private property.

Yes, sometimes we find the same IP address with very similar or identical item responses. We alert the customer of these when we send out the data set. But sometimes, people share the same laptop or iPhone when posting their opinions.
